Women are raised see one another as competition. On top of that we tend to be drawn to people who look like us and share our culture or beliefs. And these barriers rob us of so much. So at Grub we create spaces where women can come as they are, and experience true belonging and connection without the limit of biases.
Our cities are special because of all the proudly local venues, businesses, and brands that make them. Through every Grub event we expose women, and in turn their families and friends, to local businesses they can start supporting.
We are absolutely obsessed with our cities. And whether you’ve been a local all your life, or you’ve just moved from another province or country, nothing makes us happier than helping other women fall in love with their city too.
We believe that life exists on the other side of our fear. So whether it’s trying out an activity that scares you, showing up to an event where you don’t know anyone, or striking up a convo with a stranger. Every Grub event is a chance to leave braver than you walked in.
Crime, general fear, and the perception of “unsafe“ areas and general fear tend tolimit women’s freedom of movement in their cities. But together, we get to create safe spaces that move around with them.
We are very aware that our country's history of deep systematic segregation keeps various racial groups more likely to frequent and move in “their“ areas. So we are intentional about creating Grub events that get women outside of their suburbs to explore spaces they don’t see themselves in.
